Pilot installation at aluminium smelter.
Challenge accepted.
Large quantities of CO₂ are released during aluminium production. The aluminium industry is therefore seeking ways to reduce its CO₂ emissions. For this reason, we explored suitable installation solutions for two aluminium smelters.
Adding smartness.
The off-gas from an aluminium smelter contains a very low CO₂ concentration, which makes capture particularly challenging. In addition, the gas stream contains other components that can be harmful to certain solvents.
We keep it real.
We have built a pilot installation for these smelters in which various solvents will be tested for their CO₂ Capture efficiency, energy efficiency, and degree of degradation.
Done.
After all studies are completed and the optimal solvent and corresponding installation configuration have been determined, a full-scale installation will be designed and constructed.
