Challenge accepted.

In 2010, the geothermal boreholes were drilled out of an initiative of the City of The Hague, housing corporations and energy companies. The project was never continued and in 2019, they were looking for a partner that could help to fill in the missing pieces for an acceptable price so the total project would become feasible.

02

Adding smartness.

As the project does not suit a gas dryer system, the burner system and flare to burn the extracted gas are designed to burn in “wet” condition. With a high system pressure, we will reduce the risk of scaling and with the full-automatic filter-change system, there are a lot of savings in effort and operational cost. This project is also the first with a high-temperature and a low-temperature grid.

03

We keep it real.

Using our long-term partners with whom we have a good understanding, the project could be realized in an effective way. The use of proven controls software, developed in and specifically for a previous geothermal project makes the controls and monitoring the most reliable in the market.

04

Done.

This project, in the middle of the domestic zone of The Hague will be providing heat to over 4.000 surrounding houses and contributes to the sustainability of the region and city, reducing CO₂ emissions with over 5.000 tons per year.
